For my jewelry, I started by thinking about what parts of my values and personality I would want it to represent. I settled on jewelry that represents mental health and anxiety while also having a feminine coquette aesthetic, preferably pink since it’s my favorite color. I put these traits into ChatGPT and asked it to give me 10 jewelry ideas based around that. I played around with the ideas a little and chose to make a pink locket necklace that held some sort of mental wellness aspect, such as having part of it made out of rose quarts or being filled with a calming scent like lavender.

After struggling a bit with making my initial design, eventually I landed on something I was happy with. It wasn’t so much a locket as I intended, it turned out to be more of a heart pendant. Below are visual representations of the process and the outcome along with in-depth explanations.
This image was my initial sketch of the necklace I wanted to make. After starting in TinkerCAD, there was a heart shape but unlike a lot of the other shapes, you couldn’t round out the edges so there wasn’t a simple way to get the slanted edge of a locket that I wanted. I played around with shapes to try and make my own heart with slanted edges that could be used as the top of the locket. I ended up just combining a bunch of little diamonds and cut off the pointy bottoms using a heart shape so that it would be flat.
This is when my project started to turn into a totally different design. I ended up liking the diamond heart shape and put a basic, smaller heart on top of that. In the end I wanted the diamond, rough edge heart to be pink metal, with the top heart being made out of rose quarts. I then added a metal engraving of the word serendipity, in order to remind myself to stay calm in moments of stress or worry. I used a bunch of small spheres to create a long chain and was finally satisfied with my result.
The Final Product
Below are captured images of my finished necklace. The final result is a heart shaped pendant made from metal and rose quarts, representing mental/spiritual well-being and serving as a reminder of peace and good energy while fitting a feminine, coquette aesthetic.
